Advice given by the health worker and doctor must be followed. It is important to return to the doctor, if called for follow up. ✱ Minor bleeds from slight injuries to the skin are generally not dangerous and will stop on their own. However, severe bleeding is dangerous and must be controlled. Where the bleeding is from the surface, one should apply a pressure pad to control it. The person should then be taken to the district hospital. ✱ Blood in the vomit, sputum or stools can be due to a serious condition and must be investigated and managed as soon as possible. ✱ Dog bites must be washed with plenty of clean water and soap before any other treatment. ✱ The person must be taken to the district hospital as soon as possible in case of an accident. ✱ Blisters should not be burst. ✱ Burns need to be kept cool with cold water or even ice, if available. This prevents further damage to the part and also relieves pain.
